Information Is Power

It is true today more than ever that “Information Is Power” just as “The Person With The Most Facts WINS!”. They are both truer today than in the past with the power of the Internet. One of the problems is that sometimes you get too much information and you can also get inaccurate information.

So, what are you to do?

First, confirm all information. Don’t just take it as true unless you can source that it is true and accurate from more than one source. Just because you find it on a website or a blog does not automatically make it true.

Second, go with your gut.  This has proven over time to be an accurate way to judge information, if it feels wrong it usually is wrong.  If it feels right then it is usually also right if you are normal in your thinking.

Third, in a 100 years will it matter.  Some things will never matter and some will only matter for a short time.  Then some very important things will stand the test of time. Take “The Constitution” for example.

Fourth, as a friend of mine says, “Words Become Things”, thanks Mike.  Be careful what you say or write because they may have everlasting consequences in this life or the next.

Finally, never be afraid to ask for help when you are researching a particular subject or topic, you may save yourself a lot of time and energy.
